Back to School Parent Letter
Welcome back to school! We are looking forward to working with all our students and parents. It remains our goal throughout the year to prepare our students for college and the global workforce.
Here are the details pertinent to the first weeks of school at Holmes Elementary.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Students should arrive at school in their school uniform and ready to begin the school year at 8:00 a.m. Dismissal for this day will be at 1:00 p.m. If your child rides a bus to school, the busses will arrive approximately 1 hour earlier than their regular afternoon drop off time.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON PARENT VUE AUGUST 26, 2016.
All information related to your child’s class assignment could be found on ParentVue. ParentVue. is a website that allows parents to view their children’s current and historical information, including daily attendance, grades, report cards, test scores, discipline, graduation status, preparation for college and more. It is also a one-stop location for links to other parent services including School Loop and MySchoolBucks (School meal accounts). Parents also will need to update emergency card information electronically. If you have not yet activated your account, please visit Holmes Elementary school office and present a picture ID to receive a printed activation letter. If you need additional help with your account, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
EMERGENCY CARDS & ADDRESS OR TELEPHONE CHANGES
Please update on ParentVUE any change of address or telephone number and promptly notify the school office. If you need assistance please let the office know or make an appointment to use a school computer if you do not have one at home. The law requires we have up-to-date accurate enrollment information on each student. Emergency numbers are required. Make sure the back-up person is notified. For your child's safety in case of illness or accident, we must be able to contact parents or responsible adults.
Holmes’ Uniform is a white, red & dark blue blouse or shirt with dark blue, shorts, pants, skirts or jumpers. Jeans are not acceptable. A Holmes T-shirt may be purchased through the PTO or in the office. Please refer to Holmes’ Uniform Policy for more details.
